While at times unexplained and crammed into a 100-minute movie, the Hollywood big budget adaptation of Douglas Adam’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is still wonderfully funny. The tone and style are perfect, and the budget behind it gives it a great visual flair. A solid cast doesn’t hurt, either.

Yes Man could have been a fun concept for a number of Hollywood comedians. Jack Black was considered for the lead as well, although Steve Carell could have been a nice fit too. While the world didn’t need another animal-based, CG animated movie (especially one involving penguins), Surf’s Up’s approach to the genre makes it worth its own.
