Face/Off is a monumentally stupid movie. It followed another John Woo and John Travolta monumentally stupid movie, Broken Arrow. At least Broken Arrow stuck to the basics to set up its action. Face/Off is famous for the idiotic concept of face swapping, admittedly original yet completely absurd.
Travolta and Nicolas Cage face off (heh) without any [...]

Con Air is one of those movies that created a slew of action movie parodies. It’s so absurd, the dialogue so ridiculous, and the premise so utterly incoherently preposterous, you can’t help but laugh. You know what though? It’s enormously entertaining.
Con Air follows a group of the most politically correct villains in the history of [...]

Knowing is a disaster movie that wants to become the meaning of life. That’s stupid.
Knowing sets things up with a standard explanation: Everything happens for a reason. It is an acceptable premise, even backed by some mild science. The story of John Koestler (Nicolas Cage) follows after he is given a piece of numbered paper [...]

Following closely in the footsteps of its predecessor, National Treasure 2 offers little surprise and plenty of predictability. What it offers is a fun, energetic adventure filled with likable characters to carry audiences through an increasingly absurd story. This manages to entertain on its own brain dead scale as well as the original.

Yes, it’s stupid… mind-numbingly so. Still, it has energy and a fun premise – if you can accept it – to get you into this story.
That Declaration of Independence [...]

One would think any movie with an assassin should have a basic level of tension and drama. However, it’s movies like Bangkok Dangerous that destroy that theory. Nicholas Cage walks through his role as an assassin known only as Joe, failing to carry this dull, non-eventful story to the end.
A remake of a 1999 film [...]

Ghost Rider is the perfect example of a genre that’s slowly running out of steam. Mark Steven Johnson’s take on this Marvel legend is a dull, boring, and over-developed movie that doesn’t want to end. The minor humorous quips are not worth sitting through this intentionally campy disaster.
Nicolas Cage hams it up as Johnny Blaze, [...]

Following a classic credit sequence, if not one of the best you’ll ever see, Lord of War begins delivering on all counts. It’s funny, satirical, dramatic, emotional, and all the while delivering a message to the viewer. Nicolas Cage is perfect here, putting forth his best effort in years (aside from World Trade Center), and [...]
