Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs jumps the shark and nukes the fridge in every way possible.

From the perspective of a classic sci-fi fan, Monsters vs. Aliens nails it. From the opening Dreamworks logo which references Earth vs. the Flying Saucers to the Mothra-loaded finale, it’s obvious the group who worked on this animated feature studied the needed reference material.

Bee Movie offers a mixed bag of kids animation, both in terms of its look and plotting. It has some great sight gags, funny zingers, and a few decent ideas, but it’s undercooked. It feels like a nice concept, but it can be creepy and the ending doesn’t make much sense either.
